A tax notice is the bill you receive from your municipality that uses the assessed value (along with local tax rates) to calculate how much property tax you owe for the year.
A property assessment is the assessed value of your land and buildings, set by SAMA, and it shows what your property is worth for tax purposes.
Property Taxes
Property tax notices are generally mailed by July of each year.
Property taxes are DUE by December 31st of each year.
If taxes and penalties remain unpaid after December 31 of the year they are levied, a 25% penalty will be applied on January 1 of the following year.
A 15% municipal discount is available during August and September. To qualify, payments must be postmarked NO LATER than September 30.
Payment options
Payment can be made through the Village office with the options of paying through:
- Cash: Payable (in exact amount) in office
- Cheque: Payable in office or mailed
- Etransfer: Send to rvb-say-tah@bsaytah.com
- Bank Payment: Through CIBC, Conexus, or BMO, use your roll number from your bill
- Money Orders
- Bank Drafts
For after office hours, there is a mail slot available at our office where you can leave your payment securely.
